Paperwork. No one enjoys doing it but it’s just a part of the job, right?

Well, a study from Canon Australia suggests that the ever-increasing amount of paperwork and other administration tasks are actually having a negative impact on productivity.

The administrative tasks that respondents identified as having the most impact on their productivity were data entry, invoice processing, filing, and transmission of information. The increasing prevalence of these tasks was perceived by 27% of respondents to be associated with complying with regulations.

In terms of how these findings will develop into the future, 39% of respondents expected the amount of administrative tasks to continue to increase. 61% say if administration was halved they would use the time to focus on their core job, and 35% said they’d like to see better use of technology to achieve this by automating these tasks.
